Ideal spring thermostat settings?
The ideal spring thermostat setting for temperature is 20° to 24°C (68° to 76°F), very similar to the temperature settings in fall. Normally, it is slightly lower than the settings during winter because in spring we don’t need as more warmth. In fall it is when the climate is getting cooler and while in spring, the climate is getting warmer. But essentially it is in these transition periods where a more stable, close to normal human body temperature settings is preferred.
In addition, it is recommended to change the thermostat setting to cooling instead of heating. Since in spring, it starts to get warm and you don’t want to consume more via heating. Humidity is also a factor in spring and it is recommended to have a setting that caters for a normal humidity.
What else shall we prepare for spring?
Aside setting the settings on the thermostat, there are a few things that can help to live healthily and energy efficiently:
- Seek for a local HVAC technician to check and maintain your heating and cooling system.
- Perform spring cleaning to get ready for a warmer weather. For example, clean the windows and check the fans and filters so that they are ready to use.
- For people who have a condenser unit outside the yard, thoroughly clean your condenser so it is clear of dust, pollen, and floating debris. That allows for better efficiency and better air!
- Not as related to HVAC, but it is spring time so it is time to take care of your yard, and get some nice plants for your home!
